Kathryn M. Ireland, Interior Designer

SPEAKING ON: Building your Personal Brand

Kathryn’s look has been described as comfortable, bohemian, and family friendly with large doses of color and a lack of orthodoxy. Elle Decor dubbed it seat-of-the-pants chic. House & Garden included Ireland among “10 to Watch” architects and designers expected to influence 21st-century style. For the last decade, House Beautiful has named her one of the top 100 designers in the United States.

Born in England, Kathryn was raised between her parents’ homes in London and Scotland. She arrived in Los Angeles in 1986. Prior to launching her interior design business in the early 90′s, Kathryn was an actress, clothing designer, and filmmaker.

The signature Kathryn M. Ireland look now extends from fabrics to furniture. Her fabric line was launched in 1997 and is distributed in her showrooms in Los Angeles and London, as well as selected showrooms around the world.

Michael Lammel, Grad. Designer, CEO of NOA

SPEAKING ON: Industrial Design

Michael Lammel is a renowned international industrial designer based in Aachen, Germany. After studying in Essen, he became a senior designer and led a design team for designer and architect Mattheo Thun in Milan, where he met Betrand Illert, who would join Lammel in co-founding NOA Design in 1999 in Aechen. Together, the industrial designers specialize in product design, architecture and engineering, and have created a variety of sleek, technical fixtures, from faucets to fireplaces and furniture. For leading fittings manufacturer Hansa, Lammel and Illert designed a number of award-winning fixtures, including the Hansamix faucet, recipient of the Busse Design Award and one of the company’s best-known kitchen fittings. Through his work at NOA, Lammel is also involved in many complex research projects arranged by the European Union.

Kerrie Kelly, Owner of Kerrie Kelly Design Lab

SPEAKING ON: Design for Life: The Ageless Home

Kerrie Kelly is an accomplished interior designer, author, instructor and multi-media consultant. She and her team currently keep many projects going simultaneously including residential and commercial interiors while promoting her two books and multi-media project, Home Décor: A Sunset Design Guide, published by Oxmoor House and the newly released My Interior Design Kit, with Pearson Professional and Career Education. She is a certified interior designer and an holds a Masters in Business.

Ron Throupe, Assistant Professor, Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management, Daniels College of Business, University of Denver

SPEAKING ON: The Condition of the Real Estate Market

Ron Throupe is an assistant professor at the Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management, Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. He also has 25 years of experience in real estate and construction industry in various roles. He has been a licensed general contractor and is a certified general appraiser in the states of Washington and Colorado. While employed at major universities, Ron was a consultant on valuation methods. He has been providing expert valuation and consultation services on a full time basis in Seattle as director of Operation of Mundy Associates, a national real estate consulting and appraisal firm. He has conducted research, published extensively and made presentations to the American Real Estate Society annual meetings, the National Hazard Mitigation Conference, the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, and Law Seminars International.
