Judi Hicks: Enthusiastic and creative ideas, experienced solutions and someone that can help incorporate some of their wish list into a beautifully executed plan - while still keeping an eye on the budget.

CH&L: Your design philosophy is... 
JH: A design should fit  its environment. If I am designing a new kitchen or bath for an existing home, or a new construction project, I want the new space to integrate with the "vibe" of the home. At the same time, I try to encourage each of my clients to choose products that they are excited to own. Great success in projects often depends on taking a risk and going for something you really love - It's my job to make sure we have thought through the possible choices and landed on something that will reflect my client's personal style and vision. Equally important is making sure the new design maximizes efficiency and utility. Form really does follow function!

CH&L: Your style is influenced by...
JH: Travel, Classic Design, Cultural Influences in Line and Color

CH&L: The most inspiring thing you've seen lately is...
JH: My eye has been most drawn to designs that show restraint. Designs where every element counts and contributes to the success of the finished project. Efficient and creative use of materials.

CH&L: Every kitchen must have... 
JH: Something you LOVE in it

CH&L: Share with us one of your favorite features in your own kitchen...  
JH: My kitchen has two islands.  One in the center of the room that is four sided and works when we have the whole family pitching in to prepare a meal.  The second island is a serving station that separates the kitchen from the dining space

CH&L: Tell us about one of the latest trends you're seeing:
JH: That's easy - COLOR!!!  Color in cabinetry, appliances, countertop options, wall colors. New technology has made the whole spectrum of color available in product that used to have to be "neutral".
