Take a seat: Chairs to suit every style and attitude
At the 2008 Milan furniture fair, design gurus came in search of something groundbreaking and left with a new vision for an age-old form: chairs, chairs and more chairs. These numerous iterations show that the household seat is just as much creative art form as it is functional piece of furniture. Some are throne-like; others induce slouching; and many are a far, fanciful cry from their traditional ancestors. But they have one thing in common: they each possess distinctive charm, showing that there are nearly as many types of chairs as there are people who sit in them. Here, just a few of the many colorful seating options you’ll find in the January/February issue of CH&L.
