A New Kind of Winery

Carboy Winery in Littleton features 14 wines from regions around the world

In 2014, a group of passionate winemakers and restaurateurs got together and embarked on an endeavor to create an urban winery in the Denver Metro area.

The result? Colorado’s Carboy Winery. Working hands-on with vineyards and winemakers from around the world, Carboy sources high-quality grapes, juice, and single-varietal wine that is then vented, blended, and aged to craft a select brand of Carboy Wines.

In September of 2016 the doors opened to Carboy Winery in Littleton, Colorado, featuring 14 wines harvested from regions in California, Washington, Oregon, Italy, and France. In the fall of 2017 in addition to the out-of-state harvests, Carboy harvested 7 varietals from Western Slope regions in Colorado.

A carboy, also called a demijohn, is a stout glass container with a narrow neck predominantly used for fermenting and transporting small batches of spirits, beer and wine. These vessels date back as early as 14th century Europe, and they made their Colorado debut during the gold rush.

Carboy Winery has a second location in Breckenridge at The Gold Pan Saloon

In one form or another, The Gold Pan Saloon has stood for over 140 years, playing host to gunfights, outlasting Prohibition, and boasting the longest continuous liquor license west of the Mississippi. Today, locals and visitors alike visit for the camaraderie, to tell a few ski stories, listen to music, and enjoy some food and libations. Check out Carboy Winery at the Saloon, offering a selection of select Carboy wines in bottle and on tap.

Carboy Winery offers tastings, space for special events, or time just to have a flights, glass or bottle of wine with friends. They even offer private tastings
