Not Your Average Design Museum



“If I’m going to eat off of something, drink out of something or sit on something, it is going to be great design.” These are the words of the late Colorado painter Vance Kirkland. The Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art enjoyed a quiet opening earlier this year. Housing more than 4,000 decorative art pieces in a salon-type format, the museum offers a personal, intimate, jam-packed exploration of artifacts from the Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, and Arts and Crafts movements.
