Climb & Swim With Children's Hospital Colorado

Mark your calendars! Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation puts the fun in fundraising, with two active and exciting activities coming up in August.

Climbing For Kids

Each year the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation embarks on a journey to the 14,000-ft summit of Mr. Bierstadt to honor children who have a much bigger mountain to climb. The Climbing for Kids event has its eyes set on raising awareness on the often overlooked mental health issues that children face in Colorado.

The fundraiser’s intentions are to promote a healthier lifestyle for adolescents by increasing awareness of mental health services and raising money to help families gain easier access to medical support.

The family-centric climb also works a buffer to talk about these sensitive topics while embarking on one of Colorado’s favorite pastimes. The climb is open to all who want to get active and assist in the fight against children’s mental health challenges. Learn more and register online.

More information

Join together with Swim Across America – Denver on Aug. 26, 2018 at Chatfield Reservoir to benefit pediatric cancer research and clinical trials for Children's Hospital Colorado’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Beginners and advanced swimmers alike are invited to “Make Waves to Fight Cancer” at this open water fundraising event.

Participants have the opportunity to choose from a half-mile, one-mile, or 5K swims to demonstrate their support for the cause. There is even an event dubbed the “Balloon Splash” that is designated for less experienced swimmers over the age of five who want to jump in on the fundraising. Registrants may swim individually or as part of a team to honor friends or family touched by cancer.

Plus, more than 10 Olympians are expected to swim the event and participate in an autograph clinic for registered swimmers. Topping the list is Colorado native, Missy Franklin, two-time Olympian and six-time Olympic medalist (2012 and 2016) to assist in raising awareness for pediatric cancer research.

Space is limited up to 300 people, so make sure to register to help a beneficial cause. Learn more and register online
