Established in 1961, the Western Heritage Awards honors works in literature, music, film, and television that celebrate the American West’s rich heritage. The evening also includes the induction of individuals into the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Hall of Great Westerners and Hall of Great Western Performers, and concludes with the presentation of the Chester A. Reynolds Memorial Award, named in honor of the Museum’s founder. Each award recipient receives the Wrangler, a bronze sculpture of a cowboy on horseback.
